    "DISIT (Laboratory for Distributed Systems and Internet Technologies) is a laboratory for research, innovation and technology transfer, open access, on semantic computing technologies, big data, smart city, social media, NLP, data intelligence, cloud, smart cloud. The main activities of DISIT are direct collaborations with industries and in international, national and regional research projects and with qualified international research centres.
    DISIT operates in research and innovation areas such as distributed systems, smart city, knowledge mining, cross-media, distributed multimedia systems, mobile computing, media grid computing, semantic computing, industrial automation, cloud computing, big data, data mining, e-learning and distance education, e-health, social media, semantic models and recommendations, cross-media indexing, NLP, blogs and twitter vigilance."

    The Interdepartmental Laboratory of Technology and Analysis of Plant Preparations of Pharmaceutical, Food and Cosmetic Interest (PhytoLab) involves the departments of Chemistry, NEUROFARBA and Statistics, Informatics, Applications (DISIA) of the University of Florence, and carries out research and services related to the extraction, purification and characterization of natural substances for the biomedical, food, cosmetic and agro-industrial sectors. Studies are also carried out on the optimization and preparation of extracts and their formulations for marketing, quality and safety control, LCA, product registration and patenting support, and studies on the recovery and exploitation (energy and commercial) of secondary and waste products in the agro-industrial sector.

    "The Interdepartmental Laboratory of Chemistry and Biology of Peptides and Proteins (PeptLab) is a multidisciplinary technological platform that has been operating for years in the field of peptide science, dealing with the design, synthesis and analytical, structural and biological characterization of peptides of pharmaceutical, diagnostic, biotechnological, nutraceutical, cosmeceutical and materials interest.
    The Laboratory provides third party research services for the synthesis, purification, characterization (HPLC, UPLC, MS) and biological evaluation (ELISA, BiaCore SPR optical biosensoristic techniques) of new peptides and their synthetic analogues in areas of interest to the client. "

The Consortium was founded in 1994 between the Universities of Florence, Siena and Bologna to develop and coordinate resources in the specific field of the study of metalloproteins and metalloenzymes, involved in numerous biological processes, through magnetic resonance techniques in the first place, among the most advanced in the world, accompanied by other techniques (EPR, calorimetry, CD, microscopy, mass spectrometry, X-rays, etc..) available in laboratories supporting the Consortium.

    Founded in 1991 as an international interuniversity centre of excellence based in Florence, the European Laboratory for Non-Linear Spectroscopy (LENS) is a European reference point for research on light waves and lasers, based on a multidisciplinary approach (physics, chemistry and biology). Research interests include atomic physics, photonics, spectroscopy, biophysics, chemistry, biomedical imaging, biology and biotechnology, both in basic and applied and industrial research, with the possibility of manufacturing and testing of prototypes.
