In particular, the Group (consisting of two other companies, Alesco and Junia Pharma) carries out activities related to the research, design, development and marketing of its innovative products. Among its most important achievements are the SiderAL® branded products, based on Sucrosomial® Iron, and the Cetilar® branded products, intended to improve articulations movement and bring relief to joints affected by osteoarthritis. PharmaNutra closely monitors the entire manufacturing process, starting from raw materials to finished products. Furthermore, the Group has the know-how to manage all the phases from design and development to registration, marketing and sales. PharmaNutra develops and markets directly and independently a line of products under its own brand, through an exclusive network of Sales Representatives. It sells the products in Italy and abroad, in over 70 countries (located in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa).

Phytolab

The Interdepartmental Laboratory of Technology and Analysis of Plant Preparations of Pharmaceutical, Food and Cosmetic Interest (PhytoLab) involves the departments of Chemistry, NEUROFARBA and Statistics, Informatics, Applications (DISIA) of the University of Florence, and carries out research and services related to the extraction, purification and characterization of natural substances for the biomedical, food, cosmetic and agro-industrial sectors. Studies are also carried out on the optimization and preparation of extracts and their formulations for marketing, quality and safety control, LCA, product registration and patenting support, and studies on the recovery and exploitation (energy and commercial) of secondary and waste products in the agro-industrial sector.

Pontlab is a point of reference for testing, consulting and analysis of materials, operating as a certified laboratory equipped with modern and sophisticated instrumentation and techniques that allow the complete characterization of materials, products and components, simulate the conditions of use, predict the resistance and behavior. Pontlab has a flexible and multi-service structure and expertise, suitable to support companies of different sizes and from different sectors: mechanical and automotive, chemical and pharmaceutical, oil & gas, fashion, food, manufacturing, construction and others. It collaborates with design, research and development centres, universities and offers its support for research and development on new materials, validation of design choices, benchmarking on materials/products, new products/processes, problem solving, supplier qualification, product/system certification, validation of production processes, application of voluntary and mandatory technical standards.

Progetto Alimenti

The food "project" was born in 1986 as a simple laboratory of microbiology. From the very beginning, in addition to the analysis activities, the consultancy activity for the food industries was developed, proposing and implementing innovative quality control systems based on the HACCP model in the field. Over the years, the laboratory continued to adapt to the new regulatory framework and in 1996 obtained the inclusion in the list of the Ministry of Health as a laboratory qualified to perform tests of hygiene and health control on food products. Finally, in 1999, the new company Progetto Alimenti was founded, also thanks to the collaboration with other professional figures. Progetto Alimenti operates in the sector according to three points of intervention. • Specialized analysis laboratory on all food matrices with methods validated according to international standards. • Consultancy at companies, in close contact with entrepreneurs and employees. • Training courses for personnel involved in the preparation and use of food.

SeMPliCe Lab

The SeMPliCe Lab (Laboratory of Structural Chemistry and Molecular Properties) is responsible for designing and characterizing, from a structural, morphological, chemical and thermodynamic point of view, different classes of compounds and materials and their properties. The experimental techniques used range from X-ray diffraction, single crystal and micro-crystalline powders to microtomography, fluorescence analysis and elemental chemical analysis, flanked by computational studies using various molecular modeling techniques (empirical, semi-empirical and quantum-mechanical calculations). The laboratory has access to the instrumentation at the Crystallography Centre of the University of Florence (CRIST, www.crist.unifi.it), one of the most important centres in Italy in terms of instrumental equipment. The lab also deals with molecular modelling, aimed both at the design of new compounds (and/or material precursors) with desired properties, and at the identification of information / parameters of a geometric and/or electronic nature to be used to rationalize the chemical/physical properties and reactivity of the chemical species studied.

VisMederi

VisMederi is a young and dynamic company, internationally recognized and operating in the field of Life Sciences and Public Health. It was founded in 2009 as a start-up, based on the expertise and contacts of its founders gained at the Molecular Epidemiology Laboratory of the University of Siena. The main activity of the company is to support big pharmaceutical companies in developing and optimizing vaccines, especially against influenza, carrying out serological tests, validating new bioanalytical methods and experimental protocols for the release of innovative products on the market and carrying out quality controls during all intermediate stages of development. Recently, she has specialized in tests for the evaluation of the cellular immune response and has also gained experience in the design and evaluation of protocols for studies on animal models. In 2013 the company also developed a new line of business by providing consulting services, quality control through chemical-physical and microbiological analyzes in the food, environment and agriculture sectors, and checks for compliance with legal provisions.
